Panerai does a threesome for SIHH 2012

The Thressome

PAM00373- Platinum

PAM00376-White Gold

PAM00379-Rose Gold

I love threesomes! They are the absolute best. You know the spice of life. Having diversity and variety keeps you interested in the game. No you perverts! I am talking about watches for F sake. This upcoming SIHH 2012, that''s exactly what not so popular anymore what Panerai intends to do with the release of their 10 set limited edition Radiomir threesome boxed set.

Panerai will be focusing on a vintage set much like IWC did a few years ago with their  vintage boxed set, but they are actually going to be limited to a realistic number of 10 sets.  The watches will also be sold separately and are going to be available in three different precious metals of Platinum, White Gold and Rose Gold.  These three watches  will have the same serial number (from 0 to 10), documentation and three additional Plexiglas crystals and all will share the hand-wound P.3000 movement with three-day power reserve.

Radiomir  production originally all started in 1936 , but  have been able to maintain all it's visual elements of the past as well as the super sophisticated upgraded technology of today.   This limited edition boxed set of three will feature three different but equally important Radiomir's . The Radiomir Special Edition sets are on sale only in Officine Panerai boutiques in Italy, France, the United States, the Middle East, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan.

The Plaitinum Radiormir PAM00373 originally was most likely developed to try out the “sandwich” structure, one of Officine Panerai’s exclusive innovations, created to guarantee maximum night time visibility.

The White Gold Radiomir PAM00376 dial was most likely the dial used on the first watches used by the commandos in the Royal Italian Navy. its design is original for its alternating index markers, Roman and Arabic numerals, all originally in Radiomir paint. This dial was also the inspiration for what Rolex calls the California dial.

The Rose Gold Radiomir PAM00379 dial provides maximum visibility and clear legibility in all conditions of light, which is probably why it's favored over the other two dials for subsequently developed watches. Its high luminosity is owed both to its sandwich structure as well as the size of the Arabic numerals at the four cardinal points and the long stick index markers between them. The large Arabic numerals and index markers mean a considerable amount of luminous particles can emit light, making for optimal luminosity in the dark.

All three watches are 47 mm and provide different asthetics and are the best representation of how true Panerai is to it's original heritage. There has already been one set received in the Beverly Hills Panerai boutique, so if it's available and you feel like buying yourself a $100,000 Christmas gift, ask for Chad and tell him JF sent you!
