It's taken me till now, to like anything Breitling has made in the last five years. Everything they have made till this point is recycled waste that belongs in a frigging landfill! It's really been the most uninspiring shiz I have seen from any major watch company. Ironically, it's always been the Blackbird Chrono that I have always admired for it's raw simplicity. To me, the New Breitling Blackbird Red Strike Chrono is the ultimate Breilting because it's limited to 2000 pieces for the world, it has an easy to read black dial with luminescent indices, and oh yeah, it's got red accents which is so punk rock!
The watch comes in two finishes, fully polished or satin finished, so you can take your pick if it's available.. I prefer the satin finish because it's not as loud or as gay as the fully polished. Even the date is written is red. The contrast between the red and black is so well done, that I must admit after a long time I have to have this Breitling on my wrist. The bracelet is cool and different from the normal pilot bracelet because it's faceted and the bezel is a compass bezel. I would love to see a black calf strap with contrasting red stitching on this watch because it would just make it that much cooler. You see, all Breitling needed to do is make subtle changes to a classic to make it a modern cult icon. I am glad they have stopped consulting the Fossil Group for their inspirations and innovations and have finally used their heads on this one.
Here are the details
